Since
their
foundation
in
early
2017,
De
Colores
Collective
was
very
set
on
being
by
and
for
the
community
collectively,
and
creating
radically
inclusive
spaces
where
everyone
can
honor
and
be
their
best
selves.

The first couple years intentionally paired podcast episodes with accompanying themed art shows through the recurring Grey Space pop up gallery, including taboo topics in this order: Immigration, Mental Health, Black Lives Matter, Viva La Mujer, Orgullx, and Identity. Other events throughout the years included Live Shows, Xicano Movie Night, Loteria, An Evening with Shea Serrano, Summer Bash, La Diaspora, Roma & Parasite film screenings, Women of Color Comedy Show, and other event collaborations such as 214 Selena, Dia de Los Muertos, TX Latino Pride, Ripple Effects with Yesika Salgado, and more. In 2020, quarantine halted all plans and transformed the community centered work into mostly virtual by leading a lot of the intense organizing work in Dallas as uprisings began. 2021 was used to rebuild and recreate the beautiful podcast space with the powerful conversations that allowed for so many to reclaim their stories. The team looks forward to carefully returning to in person with new collaborations as the universe allows.
